Performance in Motion (PIM) is excited to welcome Alex Uding PT, DPT, PN1 back to her hometown of Chicago as she joins Team PIM! Alex graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where she received the prestigious Outstanding Student Award and Steven J. Rose Research Award. She spent the last 4 years as a Physical Therapist and Performance Coach with youth to professional athletes in a suburb of Boston, MA where she developed and taught performance training programs for the Massachusetts National Guard, the running community, female athletes of all levels, and pre- & post-natal populations.
Alex’s passion for athletic performance and movement stems from her athletic career in swimming and soccer. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, magna cum laude, where she played Division I soccer and received the Missouri Valley Conference President Council’s Academic Achievement award. She has a strong interest in bridging performance training and rehabilitation principles to promote a lifestyle of health and wellness. With certificates in Precision Nutrition, Running Coaching, and Pre- & Post-Natal Coaching, Alex is motivated to help people stay active and keep moving at their best throughout the lifespan.
Alex will be leading Performance in Motion’s inaugural Endurance Program. A program where endurance athletes of all levels will have their unique, individual Performance Training, Physical Therapy, and Recovery needs tracked and met through our experienced team of professionals. In addition, Alex will also be working on programs to empower both the Pre- & Post-Natal population and the Youth Athlete population to keep moving at their best through the PIM practice model and methodology. Needless to say, Team PIM is thrilled to have Alex on our team! Read more about her and the rest of our Team at our Team PIM page.
Alex on joining PIM: “I am very grateful to be welcomed back home by Team PIM. Chicago is the place where I fell in love with movement as a young athlete and it is a privilege to be able to give back to a city that forever changed my life.”
Alex on PIM’s Endurance Program: “Chicago is home to a great endurance athlete community. We are so excited to be able to provide individualized support for these incredible athletes. Our Endurance Program is designed to aid athletes through technique analysis, race planning, performance training, recovery sessions, physical therapy, and more!”
Alex on Youth Sports: “Youth sports provide opportunities unlike any other; they are challenging, fun, empowering, and life-changing. Navigating the world of athletics can be difficult, which is why our young athletes need a Team. As movement and performance experts, PTs are in a unique position to work with young athletes manage their health, wellness and stress, and performance through each season. If our young athletes learn to care for their bodies from a young age, the habits, mindset, and resiliency they can carry forward will bring them success on and off the field for the long run.”
