Our very first PIM Japan Mentorship Experience Week!
Nov 04, 2019What a week! After presenting 25+ lectures throughout Japan over the past 8 years, we finally brought our education program home to Chicago! On October 25, 2019, Performance in Motion’s (PIM’s) very first Japan Mentorship Experience Week came to an end after five jam-packed days of learning, moving, laughing, and collaborating. Seventeen of the very best Physical Therapists, Performance Coaches, and Orthopedists from all over Japan made the long journey to Chicago and brought an energy and excitement that was truly infectious.
Throughout the week we covered a wide variety of topics guided by the Movement Spectrum through educational lectures, lab time, and group activities. We started with evaluating and diagnosing the Movement System through isolated and fundamental movements and eventually, progressed to enhancing performance through integrated and activity-specific movements. Additional topics related to optimizing the Movement system such as Nutrition and Energy System Development were also presented.
With all the learning, a fun Wednesday night dinner party, and so many sights to see in our great city of Chicago, the week flew by, and our team is already excited for our next sold out Japan Mentorship Experience Week in the Spring of 2020 (waitlist spots are still available).
Applications for our Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 classes will be open throughout December 2019 in the “Resources” section of our webpage, and we’re actively planning a seminar series for domestic Physical Therapists and Performance coaches starting as early as next Fall 2020. Please follow us on Facebook (Performance in Motion), Twitter (@Team_PIM), or Instagram (@performanceinmotion) for announcements or send us an email at [email protected] if you’re interested.
Team PIM would like to thank all of the amazing participants of our inaugural Japan Mentorship program for spending the week with us. In addition, the week would not have been possible without our superstar translator and Physical Therapist, Maiko Morotani of Nexus Motion, PIM River North’s host gym, Hifi Fitness, the amazing lunches provided by The Goddess Rocks, Sam Fox Films, and the warm midwest hospitality and delicious food from The Fieldhouse Jones and The Dropshot Coffee & Snack Bar…Keep Moving!
